Specifying Authentication Method for SMTP Server

You can specify the authentication method for accessing an SMTP server.

Administrator Settings
The administrator selects the authentication information used when accessing the SMTP server. (See "Setting Administrators.")
1.
Press (Settings/Registration).
2.
Press [Function Settings] → [Common] → [Set Authentication Method].
3.
Press [Info. Used for SMTP Server Authentication].
4.
Select information used for SMTP server authentication.
Details of each item are shown below:
[Device Settings]:
Uses the information for SMTP server authentication set in the machine. (See "Common Communication Settings for E-Mail/I-Fax.") Further settings are not required for every user.
[Regist. Info. for Each User]:
Uses the authentication information registered by each user of an SMTP server. Further settings are required for each user.
5.
Press [OK].
Settings for Each User
1.
Log in to the machine.
2.
Press [Main Menu] → [Scan and Send] → .
3.
Press [Register/Edit Info. for Each User].
NOTE
You can register user information from on the [Scan and Send] Basic Features screen and the [Fax/I-Fax Inbox] Send screen.
4.
Press [SMTP Server Authentication Information].
5.
Enter the user name and password used for SMTP Server authentication → press [OK].
