imageRUNNER ADVANCE series machines with an Advanced Box manage the user information for authenticating access to the Advanced Box.
Therefore, if a user accesses the Advanced Box of another imageRUNNER ADVANCE series machine on the network, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE series machine that was accessed requests authentication.
A user name and password are requested each time a user accesses an Advanced Box, but set passwords can be retained using the User Setting Information Management Service.
When the same user accesses the same Advanced Box, the retained login information is automatically entered so that user does not have to enter the user name and password again.
1.
Press [Scan and Store] or [Access Stored Files] on the Main Menu screen.
If the desired function is not displayed on the Main Menu screen, press [Show All].
2.
Press [Network] → select the desired storage location.
3.
Enter the user name and password → press [Store Password] → [OK].
When the same user subsequently accesses the Advanced Box of another imageRUNNER ADVANCE series machine using the same procedure, the retained user name and password are automatically entered.
After you are finished using the machine, press (Log In/Out) to log out.
IMPORTANT
If you log in while [Store Password] is set to 'On', you can store the user name and password that you entered. The stored user name and password are automatically entered next time you log in. Also if you log in while [Store Password] is set to 'Off' when the user name and password are previously stored, the stored user name and password are erased.
If User Authentication is being used, [Store Password] can be used to associate the user information of Local Device Authentication with the user information of Advanced Box user access control using the User Setting Information Management Service. (See "User Setting Information Management (User Setting Information Management Service).")
