If a paper jam occurs inside the Paper Folding Unit-G1, a screen indicating the location of the paper jam and how to clear the jam appears on the touch panel display. Follow the procedure described below, while referring to the directions that appear on the touch panel display, to remove the jammed paper.
NOTE
The following illustration indicates the location of the paper jam. Please refer to it to remove the jammed paper.
*Front Cover
The Paper Folding Unit-G1 is an optional product.
1.
Open the front cover of the Paper Folding Unit-G1.
2.
Open the guide (M-A2).
3.
Turn the dial (M-A3), and remove any jammed paper.
1. Turn the dial (M-A3) in the direction of the arrow (counterclockwise).
2. Remove any jammed paper.
4.
Remove any paper jammed in the left guide (M-B2).
1. Pull out the paper folding unit (M-B1).
2. Open the left guide (M-B2).
3. Remove any jammed paper in the inside guide.
4. Remove any jammed paper in the outside guide.
5. Close the left guide (M-B2).
CAUTION
When closing the guide, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.

Remove any paper jammed in the right guide (M-B3).
1. Open the right guide (M-B3).
Open the guide as far as it can go.
2. Remove any jammed paper in the inside guide.
3. Remove any jammed paper in the outside guide.
4. Close the right guide (M-B3).
CAUTION
When closing the guide, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.
6.
Remove any paper jammed in the exit slot.
1. Push out any jammed paper toward the exit slot.
2. Remove any jammed paper.
3. Return the paper folding unit (M-B1) to its original position.
CAUTION
When returning the paper folding unit to its original position, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.
7.
Close the guide (M-A2) and the front cover.
1. Close the guide (M-A2).
2. Close the front cover.
CAUTION
When closing the guide and the cover, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.
NOTE
If the paper jam message is displayed even after the paper jam is cleared, check whether there is any paper left by opening the entrance guide.
8.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
NOTE
The screen indicating the directions on how to clear the paper jam is displayed repeatedly until the paper jam is cleared.
