Installing System Options/MEAP Applications (Distribution)

If the machine is connected to an external network, you can install system options/MEAP applications via a distribution server.
IMPORTANT
This operation can only be performed by a user with the required privileges. For information on the types of administrator, see "How User Authentication Works."
NOTE
Prepare the license access number certificate that was included in the package.
For instructions on connecting to an external network, see "Network Environment Setup Procedures."
To check whether the machine can communicate properly with the distribution server, perform a communication test before installation, as necessary. (See "Performing a Communication Test With the Distribution Server.")

Installing a System Option/MEAP Application Using the Touch Panel Display
You can install system options/MEAP applications in the machine using the touch panel display.
1.
Press (Settings/Registration).
2.
Press [Management Settings] → [License/Other] → [Register/Update Software].
3.
Press [Install Applications/Options] → [License Access Number].
4.
Enter the four digit License Access Number → press [OK].
Repeat this step four times to enter a total of 16 digits for the License Access Number.
5.
Press [Start].
6.
Select a system option/MEAP application → press [Install].
[Do Not Start]: Press to not start the MEAP application when installing it.
If the license agreement screen is displayed, confirm the information → press [Accept].
System options become active after you restart the machine. Restart the machine after installation.
IMPORTANT
If you press [Do Not Start] when installing a MEAP application, it is necessary to start the MEAP application before using it. (See "Starting/Stopping Applications.")
NOTE
You can select multiple system options/MEAP applications, however, you cannot select different versions of a product at the same time.
Installing System Options/MEAP Applications Using the Remote UI
You can install system options/MEAP applications in the machine using the Remote UI.
1.
From the portal page of the Remote UI, click [Settings/Registration] → [License/Other] → [Register/Update Software].
2.
Click [Distributed Installation].
3.
Enter the license access number → click [Next >].
NOTE
If an incorrect license access number is entered, an error page appears.
4.
Select a system option/MEAP application → click [Start Installation].
Operations after installation:
[Start]: Starts the installed MEAP application.
[Stop]: Stops the installed MEAP application.
If the license agreement screen is displayed, confirm the information → click [Accept].
System options become active after you restart the machine. Restart the machine after installation.
Click [To Distributed Installation] to return to the distribution installation page.
IMPORTANT
If you press [Stop] when installing a MEAP application, it is necessary to start the MEAP application before using it. (See "Starting/Stopping Applications.")

NOTE
The maximum number of MEAP applications that can be installed is 19.
The maximum amount of hard disk space that MEAP applications can use is approximately 4 GB.
There may be other system requirements for installation, depending on the MEAP application. For more information, see the manual provided with each MEAP application.
Depending on the installed system option/MEAP application, you can download the manual or related software for the system option/MEAP application from the URL displayed on the screen after installation.
