Adjusting the Image Clear Level of the ITB (Intermediate Transfer Belt)

When automatic cleaning is not sufficient to remove the toner residue on the transfer belt, toner residue may transfer to the paper, and this could adversely affect the quality of the image. In this case, adjust the image clear level of the ITB for the custom paper type.
IMPORTANT
This function is displayed only if the settings are made available by your local authorized Canon dealer. Even if this function is displayed, do not allow anyone to change the settings except for the system manager. For more information on changing the settings, contact your local authorized Canon dealer.
1.
Press (Settings/Registration).
2.
Press [Preferences] → [Paper Settings] → [Paper Type Management Settings].
3.
Select the paper type that you want to edit from the list → press [Details/ Edit].
4.
Press [Change] for <Adjust ITB Image Clearing>.
5.
Press [-] or [+] to adjust the image clear level → [OK].
NOTE
If the result is unsatisfactory even after pressing [+], press [-].
6.
Press [OK].
NOTE
If the condition is not improved even after you have adjusted the value in both [-] and [+] directions, adjust the Secondary Transfer Voltage value. The condition may be improved by adjusting the value of Secondary Transfer Voltage value in the [-] direction. However, note that changing the value of Secondary Transfer Voltage value abruptly may greatly affect the output result. Make sure to check the output result while adjusting the value.
