Adjusting Lead Edge Secondary Transfer Voltage

If the area approximately 40 mm from the head of paper is lighter or darker than the other areas, adjust the Lead Edge Secondary Transfer Voltage (the voltage for transferring toner to the paper) for the user-registered paper.
IMPORTANT
This function is displayed only if the settings are made available by your local authorized Canon dealer. Even if this function is displayed, do not allow anyone to change the settings except for the system manager. For more information on changing the settings, contact your local authorized Canon dealer.

1.
Press (Settings/Registration).
2.
Press [Preferences] → [Paper Settings] → [Paper Type Management Settings].
3.
Select the paper type that you want to edit from the list → press [Details/Edit].

Press [Change] for <Adj Ld Edge Sec. Trans. Volt.>
5.
Press [-] or [+] for front side and back side to adjust the voltage → [OK].
Details of each item are shown below:
[Correction Level]:
If high-density areas of images are too light in environments with a high temperature or humidity, adjust to the [+] side from the current value. Note that if the value is too large, a density change is likely to occur in low density parts of the image.
If the image is too dark or too light in environments with a low temperature or humidity, adjust to the [-] side from the current value. Note that if the value is too small, a density change is likely to occur in high density parts of the image. If the density is different only in the low density parts of an image, adjust to the [+] and [-] sides as necessary.
[Correction Amount]:
If an adequate image cannot be output by adjusting [Correction Level], adjust the position to start correction. Enter a value, regarding the position 20 mm from the head as 0.
