Initializing All Data/Settings

If this mode is performed, the following data stored in the machine are completely erased. It is not normally necessary to use this mode, but it is useful to erase personal or confidential information when returning or disposing of the machine.

[Favorite Settings] registered for the Access Files function

MEAP applications and license files

Data saved from MEAP applications

The password for the SMS (Service Management Service) login service of MEAP

(If you changed the password, it returns to the default password.)

User authentication information registered in the Local Device Authentication system of SSO-H (Single Sign-On H)

Job history

Settings/Registration settings

Key Pair and Server Certificate registered in [Certificate Settings] in [Device Management] in [Management Settings] (Settings/Registration)

IMPORTANT
Before initiating the Initialize All Data/Settings mode, make sure that the data you are erasing is completely unnecessary. Note that Canon will not be liable for any damages resulting from the loss of data. To prevent other users from accidentally erasing all the data in the memory, it is recommended to register a System Manager ID and System Manager PIN so that only the System Manager can perform this procedure. Confirm that there are no current jobs being processed before using the Initialize All Data/Settings mode. Backup or export any necessary data before erasing the data in the machine. You can backup or export the following data: Data you can export using the Remote UI (Depending on the MEAP application, you may be able to backup this data. For more information, see the manual for the MEAP application you are using.) License files for MEAP applications (For information on downloading license files, see "Managing Application Licenses.") User authentication information registered in the Local Device Authentication system of SSO-H (Single Sign-On H) (For information on exporting authentication information, see "Registering/Editing User Data for Local Device Authentication.") Settings which can be sent using the Device Information Delivery mode (Can only be backed up if you have another printer with the Device Information Delivery mode. It is not necessary to back up this data if you want to use the data already registered in the other printer.) For more information on the Device Information Delivery mode, see "Specifying Device Information Delivery Settings.") Data saved from MEAP applications (Depending on the MEAP application, you may be able to back up this data. For more information, see the manual for the MEAP application you are using.)

License files for MEAP applications
(For information on downloading license files, see "Managing Application Licenses.")

Settings which can be sent using the Device Information Delivery mode
(Can only be backed up if you have another printer with the Device Information Delivery mode. It is not necessary to back up this data if you want to use the data already registered in the other printer.) For more information on the Device Information Delivery mode, see "Specifying Device Information Delivery Settings.")

Data saved from MEAP applications
(Depending on the MEAP application, you may be able to back up this data. For more information, see the manual for the MEAP application you are using.)

After initializing data, the Initialize All Data/Settings Report is automatically printed to confirm initialization. Use the report to check the following items.

Serial Number

The serial number of the machine is printed.

Device Name

The device name of the machine is printed.

Overwrite Method for Deletion Mode

The deleted contents and deletion mode are printed.

NOTE
The Initialize All Data/Settings Report is printed in English only. Although the job logs are deleted when the Initialize All Data/Setting mode is performed, the log which shows the Initialize All Data/Settings Report has been printed appears in [Log].

Press

(Settings/Registration).

Press [Management Settings] → [Data Management] → [Initialize All Data/Settings].

Select the deletion mode → press [Start].

Details of each item are shown below:

[Once with 0 (Null) Data]:	Overwrite the data once with 0 (null) data.
[Once with Random Data]:	Overwrite the data once with random data.
[3 Times with Random Data]:	Overwrite the data three times with random data.
[9 Times with Random Data]:	Overwrite the data nine times with random data.
[DoD Standard]:	Overwrite the data three times. The first time is with a fixed value, the second time with a complement of the fixed value, and the third time is with random data.

It may take more than 30 minutes to initialize the memory.

By executing the Initialize All Data/Settings mode, the machine will automatically restart.

After the machine restarts, Initialize All Data/Settings Report will be printed automatically.

IMPORTANT
If there are any current jobs being processed, they will be canceled, and then erased.

IMPORTANT
You cannot access the machine while the memory is being initialized.
