You can specify settings to improve the security of files stored in mail boxes.
Forcing Seven Digit Mail Box PINs
The PIN used when storing a file in a mail box can be set using at least one digit. If you set this function to 'On', users are forced to set a seven digit PIN.
1.
Press (Settings/Registration).
2.
Press [Function Settings] → [Store/Access Files] → [Mail Box Settings].
3.
Press [Box Security Settings] → [Limit Box PIN to 7 Digits/Restrict Access].
4.
Press [On] → [OK].
Select [Off] if you do not want to force users to set a seven digit mail box PIN.
NOTE
Changes are only effective after you restart the machine. For instructions on restarting the machine (turning the main power switch OFF, and then ON), see "Main Power and Energy Saver Key."
Allowing Changes to Print Settings upon Storing from the Printer Driver
In <Print When Storing from Printer Driver> in [Function Settings] (Settings/Registration), you can set whether to print a file when storing it in a mail box from a computer via the printer driver. (See "Mail Box Settings.") If you set this mode to 'Off', the settings for <Print When Storing from Printer Driver> cannot be changed.
1.
Press (Settings/Registration).
2.
Press [Function Settings] → [Store/Access Files] → [Mail Box Settings].
3.
Press [Box Security Settings] → [Disp. Print When Storing from Printer Driver].
4.
Press [On] → [OK].
Select [Off] if you want to restrict changes to print settings upon storing from the printer driver.
NOTE
Changes are only effective after you restart the machine. For instructions on restarting the machine, see "Main Power and Energy Saver Key."

IMPORTANT
If you registered a PIN of fewer than seven digits before you set this function to 'On', you can use the registered PIN. However, to ensure security, register the PIN again using seven digits.
NOTE
If you set this function to 'On', users are forced to set seven digit PINs for the Memory RX Inbox and Confidential Fax Inboxes.
For instructions on setting a PIN for a mail box, see "Mail Box Settings."
For instructions on setting PINs for the Memory RX Inbox and Confidential Fax Inboxes, see "Specifying the Fax/I-Fax Inbox Settings."
