Return to Overview

To "Settings/Registration Table"

For users that accessed the machine via a computer or other machine, you can set whether to prohibit that user from creating a folder or storing a file in the public Advanced Box.

  1. Press (Settings/Registration) → [Function Settings] → [Store/Access Files] → [Advanced Box Settings] → [Prohibit Writing from External].
  1. Set whether to prohibit writing from external → press [OK].

Details of each item are shown below.

[On]: Prohibits folders to be created or files to be stored by an external user.
[Off]: Allows folders to be created or files to be stored by an external user.
  • To send to the Advanced Box of a machine from the same machine, it is recommended that you specify a loopback address (an address that indicates the same device on a network). You can store files sent from a loopback address even if [Prohibit Writing from External] is set to 'On'. (See "Advanced Box Addresses" in "Scan and Send.")
