Printing Results Are Not Satisfactory
If a problem occurs such as smudge marks on the printouts, or creases on the printed paper, check the following.
Printouts Are Not Clear
Print Density Is Uneven/Printouts Are Faded
Paper has absorbed moisture.
Replace with dry paper.
Appropriate paper is not used.
Check usable paper, and replace with appropriate paper.
The settings for gradation and density are not properly adjusted.

Drum or wire is dirty.

The background density is set too dark.
Adjust the density on <Background Density> in <Density> that is available for each function.
Paper Creases or Curls

Paper has absorbed moisture.
Replace with dry paper.
Paper Creases
Paper is not loaded correctly.
Load the paper correctly.
Paper has absorbed moisture.
Replace with dry paper.
Appropriate paper is not used.
Check usable paper, and replace with appropriate paper.
Paper Is Not Fed Correctly

Paper is not loaded correctly.
Fan the paper stack thoroughly so that that the paper is not stuck together.
Check that paper is loaded correctly.
Check that the number of sheets of paper loaded is appropriate and that the appropriate paper is used.
Check that mixed sizes and types of paper are not loaded together.
Check that the paper has no folds. Remove any folded paper.
Images Are Shifted/Slanted/Distorted
Paper guides of the paper source are not positioned correctly.
Adjust the paper guides so that they are aligned against the edges of the paper.
Data without margins was printed.
Check the printable area and margins around the data. Insert margins around the data and print it again.
Perform the following operations on the printer driver.

The settings for upper margin or paper position are not properly set in your application.
See the instruction manual for the application you are using to properly set the upper margin and paper position.
The print ratio setting is not properly set.
Perform the following operations in the printer driver.

Display the [Page Setup] tab.

Clear the [Manual Scaling] check box.
By clearing the check box, the enlarging/reducing ratio is automatically set according to the document and paper sizes specified for [Page Size] and [Output Size].

Select the [Manual Scaling] check box and set a print ratio that is suitable for the paper size.

Cannot Be Printed on the Specified Paper Size
The paper setting on the printer driver or the application does not match with the loaded paper.
In the printer driver, check the paper setting on the [Printing Preferences] screen. If the setting is incorrect, match the setting to the loaded paper.
Printed on the Reverse Side
Paper is loaded in the reverse orientation or facing.
Reload the paper in the correct orientation or facing.
Printed on Upside Down
The settings for [Binding Location] and [Orientation] are not properly set.
Set [Binding Location], and then set [Orientation].
