Printing Files Stored in a Memory Media

Return to Overview

This section describes the procedure for printing files stored in the Memory Media on the machine.
The explanation of the procedures assumes that the memory media is connected to the USB port. For instructions on removing the memory media, see "Removing the Memory Media."

Remark
  • The default setting for displaying memory media is 'Off'. To use the memory media, set [Memory Media] to 'On'. (See "Store Location Display Settings.")
  • If you set [Use Print Function] to 'Off', you cannot select [Memory Media]. (See "Restricting the Storing and Printing of Files.")
  • To print a PDF file from this machine, the PS Printer Kit or Direct Print Kit (for PDF/XPS) is necessary.
  • The following type of memory media is supported:
  • USB memory
  • The following memory media file system is supported:
  • FAT32
  • Memory media with security functions and memory card readers connected via USB are not supported.
  • Memory media used with an extension cable is not supported.
  • Memory media used via a USB hub is not supported.
  • Memory media that does meet the USB specification is not supported.
  • Some memory media cannot be used.
  • The following conditions must be met to use the memory media.
  • [Use MEAP Driver for External USB Device] is set to 'Off'. (See "Using the MEAP Driver for External USB Memory Device Connections.")
  • Insert the USB memory straight into the USB port. If the USB memory is inserted in an angle or if you insert a USB memory type not compliant with USB specifications, the USB port may be damaged.
  • You can select and print up to six files in the same Memory Media at a time. However, you cannot select and print files with different file formats or a folder and a file at the same time.
  • You can only select multiple files when the files are stored in the same folder.
  • To cancel all settings, press [Back to Default Set.]. (The machine restores the default settings for Access Stored Files.)

  1. Press [Access Stored Files] on the Main Menu screen.

  1. Press [Memory Media].

  1. Select the desired memory media.

  • If the USB Device Port-A1 and Multimedia Reader/Writer-A2 are installed, you can use the SD card, CF card, and Memory Stick. For more information, see "Optional Products (imageRUNNER ADVANCE C9075 PRO/C9065 PRO)" or "Optional Products (imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7065/C7055)."
  1. Browse to the level (folder) where the file you want to print is stored.
  1. Select the file that you want to print → press [Print].

If there are seven or more stored files, press [], or [] to scroll through the stored files.

You can select and print multiple files with the same settings if they are in the same file format.

However, you can only print up to six files at a time.

You cannot select and print multiple files if their file formats, such as PDF and JPEG, are different from each other.

  • The selected files are numbered in the order specified, and are printed in that order.
  • You can cancel a selection by selecting the file again.
  • To cancel all files, press [Clear Selection].
  • When there are two or more files stored in the memory media, you can press [Name] or [Date/Time] to sort the list of files.
  • When you close the memory media after sorting the files, the files will be unsorted the next time you open the memory media.
  • If you press [Name], or [Date/Time] with a file selected, that file is unselected, and the top of the file list is displayed.
  1. If the Select Paper screen is displayed, select the paper source → press [OK].

The Select Paper screen is displayed only if you are printing a JPEG or TIFF file.

If you are printing a PDF file, [Auto] is selected.

To change the paper source, see step 3 of "Paper Selection."

  • For more information on paper types, see "Basic Operations."
  1. Select the print settings on the Print Settings screen.

To change the number of prints, enter the desired number using - (numeric keys).

To print all pages, press [All Pages].

To specify which pages to print, press [Specify Pages] and specify the first and last pages of your desired print range.

  • You can set paper selection, 2-sided printing, finishing, and special features on the Print Settings screen.
  1. Press [Start Printing].

If there is a current or reserved print job, the machine will start printing your file after that job is complete.

When printing starts, the following screen appears.

When printing is complete, the display returns to the Memory Media Selection screen.

  • To cancel printing, press [Stop]. (You cannot cancel printing by pressing (Stop).)
  • To reserve the next print job, press [Close] → select the mail box containing the file you want to print → select the file → press [Start Printing]. (See "Reserving Jobs.")
