Storing a Reader Extensions Compatible PDF

The Reader Extensions mode enables comments to be added, etc. when using the Adobe Reader software distributed for the viewing of PDF files.

For information on the optional products required to use this function, see "Optional Products Required for Each Function (imageRUNNER ADVANCE C9075 PRO/C9065 PRO)" or "Optional Products Required for Each Function (imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7065/C7055)."

Remark
  • You can not set the Reader Extension if the following setting is already set.
  • If [Optimize PDF for Web] is set to 'On' and digital signature is set. (See "Optimize PDF for Web.")
  • If [Format PDF to PDF/A] is set to 'On' (See "Standardize PDF as PDF/A.")
  • If both Reader Extensions and [Password Required to Change Permiss.] for Encrypted PDF are set, Reader Extensions functions are restricted to the set privileges.
  • Reader Extensions is compatible with Adobe Reader 7 or later.
  • If Digital Signature and Reader Extensions are both set on the PDF file, the changes made after the signature is stored on the generated PDF file.
  • When opening Reader Extensions compatible PDF on Adobe Reader, if the time for when the PDF is created is later than the current time on the computer, an error occurs. If the time on the machine and the time on the computer do not match, an error may occur.
  • If you are setting both Reader Extensions and Encrypted PDF, and specifying [Password Required to Change Permiss.] for Encrypted PDF, select one of the following from the Allow Changes drop-down list.
  • Signature Field Signing
  • Commenting and Signature Field Signing
  • Changes but Add Comments/Extract Pages
  • Changes but Extract Pages
  • The following features are available on Adobe Reader 7 or later for the Reader Extension compatible PDF.
  • Edit Comments
  • Store Corrected Files (Save or Save As)
  • Sign Existing Signature Fields
  • The following features are available on Adobe Reader 9 or later for the Reader Extensions compatible PDF.
  • Add Digital Signatures

  1. Select the desired space and folder.
  1. Place your originals → press [Scan].
  1. Press [File Format].
  1. Select [PDF] → press [Set Details].

If [Set Details] is not displayed, press [Reader Extensions] on the File Format screen → proceed to step 6.
  1. Press [Reader Extensions] → press [OK].
  1. Press [OK].

If you want to separate document with multiple pages into separate pages and scan them as separate files, set [Divide into Pages] to 'On'.
  1. Press (Start).
