Setting the File Format and Storing Files with Various Settings

You can select the PDF, JPEG, or TIFF file format when storing a scanned document. If you are storing a scanned document as a PDF file, you can also specify [Trace & Smooth], [Compact], [OCR], [Encrypt], [Add Digital Signatures], [Apply Policy], and/or [Reader Extensions].


Remark
  • This mode is only available for storing files in the Advanced Box, Network, and Memory Media.
  • For information on the modes which cannot be set in combination with this mode, see "Combination of Functions Chart."
  • For instructions on placing originals, see "Basic Operations."
  • For information on the settings for the color mode, see "Changing Color Modes."
  • For instructions on specifying the resolution, see "Resolution."
  • To cancel all settings, press (Reset). The machine restores the default settings for Scan and Store.
  • As an example, the procedure for scanning an original and storing it in the Advanced Box is explained in this section.
