If originals that have been fed through the feeder have streaks or appear dirty, clean the feeder's rollers.
Clean the rollers of the feeder with a cloth which is wrung after being dampened in water, and then wipe them clean with a soft, dry cloth.

Spin the rollers while cleaning them.
If the document feed scanning area is dirty, documents may not be scanned clearly, and the size of the document may not be detected correctly.

Clean the rollers of the feeder.

1. Pull the lever, and open the feeder cover. |
2. Clean the rollers (a total of three places) inside the feeder cover. |

Clean the rollers inside the inner cover.

1. Open the inner cover, holding it by its tab. |
2. Clean the rollers (a total of three places) inside the inner cover. |
3.
Clean the transparent plastic area on top of the inner cover.

1. Clean the plastic area. |
2. Close the inner cover. |

When closing the cover, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.

Clean the feeder scanning area.

2. Clean the feeder scanning area with a cloth which is wrung after being dampened in water or a mild detergent, and then wipe the area with a soft dry cloth. |

Clean the roller and the surrounding area.

1. Turn the roller while turning the feed dial. |
2. Clean the area while turning the roller. |
