Replacing the Waste Toner Container

When the waste toner container is almost full or completely full, a message is displayed prompting you to prepare a new waste toner container or perform waste toner container replacement. Prepare a new waste toner container or perform waste toner container replacement according to the displayed message.
The waste toner container is a container for collecting unused toner that remains when printing.

When a Message Is Displayed

When <The waste toner is nearly full. Replacement is not yet needed.> is displayed

Procedure for Replacing the Waste Toner Container

When replacing the waste toner container, the procedure is also displayed on the screen. Check the information displayed on the screen in addition to the following procedure.

Slide the control panel to the right and open the front cover of the main unit.

Remove the waste toner container.
Hold the waste toner container on both sides and pull it out toward you.
Do not tilt the waste toner container. Doing so may cause the toner in the container to spill.

Remove the new waste toner container from its box.

Place the waste toner container you removed into a box.
Use the bag included in the box for the new waste toner container. Tightly twist the opening of the bag so that the toner does not spill out, and then place the bag in the box.

Install the new waste toner container.
Align the mark on the waste toner container with the matching mark around the inlet on the main unit side, and install the container.

Close the front cover of the main unit and slide the control panel to the left.
The used waste toner container will be collected by your local authorized Canon dealer.
