Watermark Printing

Prints watermark or user-defined text onto the output.


Remark
  • For information on the modes which cannot be set in combination with this mode, see "Combination of Functions Chart."
  • This mode can be used only for printing a file stored in a mail box.
  • The Watermark mode cannot be used with files with a resolution of less than 600 × 600 dpi.
  • Printing performance may not be optimal, depending on the file content and combination of settings.
  • If the Watermark Printing mode is used with the Insertion Sheets or Job Separator mode, the watermark will not be printed on the inserted pages.

  1. Select the desired Mail Box.
  1. Select the file that you want to print → press [Print] → [Change Print Settings] → [Options].
  1. Press [Watermark].
  1. Set the watermark position and orientation.

Select top or bottom ([], []), one of the four corners ([], [], [], []), or [Center] for the print position.

If [Center] is selected, the watermark is printed on the center of the paper.

  • If you set any two of the Page Numbering, Copy Set Numbering, Watermark Printing, or Print Date modes to print in the same position, a message asking for your confirmation is displayed when you press (Start).
  • Press [Set Details].
  • Press [X] and [Y] → press [-] or [+] to set their respective positions.
  • Press [OK].
  • Select the orientation from [Upright Image] or [Sideways Image].

Orientation:

[Upright Image]: Prints the image upright on the paper.
[Sideways Image]: Prints the image sideways on the paper.

  1. Specify the print settings for watermark.
  • Select the size of the copy set numbers from the drop-down list.

Select the size of the watermark from [36.0 pt], [54.0 pt], and [72.0 pt].

You can select [Yellow], [Magenta], [Cyan], [Black], [Red], [Green], or [Blue] for the color of the date.

  • Select a preset watermark type from the drop-down list.

If [Custom] is selected, press [Enter] → enter the text → press [OK].

  • Text that you enter in [Custom] is not automatically saved. If you want to register your newly created watermark to be selected whenever necessary, press [Register] → enter the text to be registered.
  • You can also select the text which has been registered in [Register Characters for Page No./Watermark]. (See "User-Defined Text for Page Numbers and Watermarks.")
  1. Press [Set Details].

If you are not specifying other Page Numbering settings, proceed to step 7.

  • If [Print Type] is selected:

  • If [Print Type] is selected:
  • Press [Pages to Print].
  • Select [All Pages] or [Print on Top Page Only] → press [OK].

  • If you want to change the print settings:
  • Press [Print Type].
  • Select [Transparent] or [Overlay] → press [OK].

If [Transparent] is selected, you can also adjust the halftone density by pressing [Light] or [Dark].


  1. Press [OK].
