Overview of This Function

You can use the following four types of storage for storing scanned documents or retrieving the stored files.

  • Mail Box
  • Advanced Box
  • Network
  • Memory Media

To scan the original and store, press [Scan and Store] on the Main Menu screen → specify the location to store the scanned data.

To use the stored file, press [Access Stored Files] on the Main Menu screen → select the location where the desired file is stored.

  • Mail Box

The Mail Box is a data storage area in this device to store and handle files for printing in format exclusively supported by this device.
It enables users to store files that are scanned with this machine, or data sent from a personal computer via the printer driver. The stored files can be printed anytime using the desired settings. You can also link with the Send function to send via fax or convert the file format of the scanned documents into another format, such as TIFF, PDF, and JPEG, to send via e-mail.
You can use up to 100 mail boxes and give a name or set a password for each mail box. In addition, various editing features are available, such as merging separately stored files into one file, and erasing unnecessary pages from a file.

  • Advanced Box/Network

Advanced Box is a storage area in the machine that stores files with a unique file format that can be used on your computer. There are two types of storage in the Advanced Box: the Shared Space and the Personal Space. The files stored in the latter can be kept confidential by restricting access.
You can scan the document with this machine and store it (in PDF, JPEG, or TIFF file format), and also print the stored file on this machine at any time with your desired print setting.
The Advanced Box can be opened to the public as an SMB server or WebDAV server. You can access the Advanced Box from your computer and move files from your computer to the machine or vice-versa.

By pressing [Network], you can select the Advanced Box of another machine to store files, if it is on the accessible network from this machine. It enables you to scan the document with this machine and store it in the Advanced Box of another machine on the same network or print the file stored in another machine on this machine.

To print a PDF file from this machine, the PS Printer Kit or Direct Print Kit (for PDF/XPS) is necessary.

  • Memory Media

Memory Media is storage that can be used by attaching USB memory to the USB port of the machine. You can scan the document with this machine and store it in memory media (in PDF, JPEG, or TIFF file format), and also print the file stored in the memory media on this machine at any time with your desired print setting.
To print a PDF file from this machine, the PS Printer Kit or Direct Print Kit (for PDF/XPS) is necessary.
If the USB Device Port-A1 and Multimedia Reader/Writer-A2 are installed, you can use the SD card, Memory Stick, CF card, and Microdrive. For more information, see "Optional Products (imageRUNNER ADVANCE C9075 PRO/C9065 PRO)" or "Optional Products (imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7065/C7055)."

  • Types of Mail Box Icons

As shown on the table below, each icon indicates the color mode used when the file is stored and whether it is stored with print settings.
The icons for files stored from a computer or using the Store In Mail Box mode of the Copy function, or files with print settings, become icons with print settings. However, if you perform Merge and Store or Insert Pages with these files, the icons for the newly created files are icons without print settings.
