Front Right Cover/Horizontal Pass

This section describes how to clear a paper jam which occurs in th POD Deck-D1side. The location of the POD Deck-D1 side is indicated in the following illustration.

NOTE
You can clear a paper jam which occurs when the POD Deck-D1/Secondary POD Deck-D1 is attached, by following the same procedure for clearing a jam paper when only the is attached. The following illustration indicates the location of the paper jam. Please refer to it to remove the jammed paper. If only the POD Deck-D1 is attached: If the POD Deck-D1/Secondary POD Deck-D1 is attached:　 The labels on the Secondary POD Deck-D1 side are indicated with Da- (ex: Da-A1), and on the POD Deck-D1 side are indicated as Db-.

NOTE

You can clear a paper jam which occurs when the POD Deck-D1/Secondary POD Deck-D1 is attached, by following the same procedure for clearing a jam paper when only the is attached.

If only the POD Deck-D1 is attached:

If the POD Deck-D1/Secondary POD Deck-D1 is attached:　

The labels on the Secondary POD Deck-D1 side are indicated with Da- (ex: Da-A1), and on the POD Deck-D1 side are indicated as Db-.

Follow the procedure described below, while referring to the location of the paper jam and the directions that appear on the touch panel display, to remove the jammed paper.

Open the front right cover of the POD Deck.

Open the guides (D-A1 and D-B1).

Remove any jammed paper.

Turn the dials (D-A2, D-B2, and D-B3) in the direction of the arrow (clockwise), in the locations where paper jam has occurred.

Remove any jammed pape.

Close the guides (D-A1 and D-B1).

CAUTION
When closing the guide, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.

Open the horizontal pass cover.

Open the guide (D-C1).

Remove any jammed paper.

Turn the dial (D-C2) in the direction of the arrow (clockwise), and remove any jammed paper.

Close the guide (D-C1).

CAUTION
When closing the guide, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.

Open the guide (Db-C3) (only when the POD Deck-D1/Secondary POD Deck-D1 is attached).

13.

Remove any jammed paper (only when the POD Deck-D1/Secondary POD Deck-D1 is attached).

14.

Close the guide (Db-C3) (only when the POD Deck-D1/Secondary POD Deck-D1 is attached).

15.

Close the horizontal pass cover.

16.

Close the front right cover of the POD Deck.

CAUTION
When closing the cover, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.

17.

Follow the instructions on the touch panel display.

NOTE
The screen indicating the directions on how to clear the paper jam is displayed repeatedly until the paper jam is cleared. (See "Clearing Paper Jams.")
