Settings/Registration and User Privileges
Various settings of the machine can be specified from Settings/Registration.
Since Settings/Registration includes important security and network settings, it is recommended that you operate the machine after carefully considering login service settings and user privileges.
For details on login services, see "Other Login Services." For information on the procedure for logging in, see "Login Methods." and "Logging In with DepartmentID Authentication (When Department ID Management Is Enabled)."
Privileges and Available Settings
The settings that can be specified in Settings/Registration differ according to the type of login service and roles that are set.
If you are using User Authentication, the user with Administrator privileges specifies all the system settings of the machine.
Users with DeviceAdmin and NetworkAdmin privileges can specify some settings that require administrator privileges.
If you are using DepartmentID Authentication, the System Manager specifies all the system settings of the machine.
For information on the settings that can be specified by each administrator, see "Available Settings for Administrator Table (Touch Panel Display)." and "Available Settings for Administrator Table (Remote UI)."
IMPORTANT
The Administrator/System Manager is set for the machine by default.
If you are logging in as the Administrator for Local Device Authentication and the default user name and password are still being used, a screen prompting you to change the password is displayed when you click [Log In]. Change the password to increase security.
The default user name for the Administrator is 'Administrator' and the default password is '7654321'. (Case sensitive.) The default setting for both the System Manager ID and System Manager PIN of the System Manager is '7654321'.
NOTE
Settings specified in Settings/Registration are not changed even if you turn OFF the main power, or press (Reset).
For information on the settings you can specify for each item, see "Settings/Registration Table."
The Settings screen may display a list of settings. Press [] or [] to scroll to the desired setting.
