Feeding Unit
This section describes how to clear a paper jam which occurs in the feeding unit. The location of the feeding unit is indicated in the following illustration.
NOTE
The following illustration indicates the location of the paper jam. Please refer to it to remove the jammed paper.
Follow the procedure described below, while referring to the location of the paper jam and the directions that appear on the touch panel display, to remove the jammed paper.

1.
Open the front cover of the marking engine.
Open the right side of the front cover first.
2.
Remove any jammed paper from the B-F.
3.
Tilt the lever (B-G1) to the right.
4.
Grip the lever (B-G1), and pull out the feeding unit.
5.
Open the guide (B-G2).
6.
Open the guide (B-G3), and push the lever to open the guide (B-G4).
7.
Remove any jammed paper.
8.
Close the guides (B-G4, B-G3, and B-G2).
CAUTION
When closing the guides, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.
9.
Remove any jammed paper from the B-G5.
10.
Open the guide (B-G6).
11.
Remove any jammed paper.
12.
Close the guide (B-G6).
CAUTION
When closing the guide, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.
13.
Close the feeding unit.
CAUTION
When returning the feeding unit to its original position, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.
IMPORTANT
Make sure that the feeding unit is returned to its original position properly.
14.
Return the lever (B-G1) to its original position.
15.
Close the front cover of the marking engine.
Close the left side of the front cover first.
CAUTION
When closing the front cover, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.
16.
Follow the instructions on the touch panel display.
NOTE
The screen indicating the directions on how to clear the paper jam is displayed repeatedly until the paper jam is cleared. (See "Clearing Paper Jams.")
