Changing the Auto Adjust Left/Right Edge Alignment
The Auto Adjust Left/Right Edge Alignment function enables you to prevent the printed image from being misaligned vertically as seen from the paper feeding direction. Although the default setting is set to [On], if you set this function to [Off], you may be able to adjust the misaligned image as described below.
When using pre-printed paper, bordered paper, or color paper, the printed image is not aligned with the left edge or the image position varies greatly depending on the paper type.
When using heavy paper, the printed image is skewed or distorted like a trapezoid.

This function is displayed only if the settings are made available by your local authorized Canon dealer. Even if this function is displayed, do not allow anyone to change the settings except for the system manager. For more information on changing the settings, contact your local authorized Canon dealer.

Press
(Settings/Registration).
2.
Press [Preferences] → [Paper Settings] → [Paper Type Management Settings].
3.
Select the paper type that you want to edit from the list → press [Details/Edit].
4.
Press [Change] for <Auto Adj. L/R Edge Alignment>.
5.
Select [Off] → press [OK].
If you want to use the auto adjust left/right edge alignment, select [On].
6.
Press [OK].
