Remote Operation

The Remote Operation function enables you to specify settings and process jobs from a personal computer by displaying the screen of the touch panel display on the computer screen.
NOTE
For information on functions and operating instructions, see the instruction manual of the Remote Operator's Software Kit on the Canon official Web site.
The default setting for [Remote Operation Settings] is 'Off'.
Enabling the Remote Operation
1.
Press (Settings/Registration).
2.
Press [Management Settings] → [License/Other] →[Remote Operation Settings].
3.
Press [On] → [OK].
Press [Password] to set the password.
IMPORTANT
To perform the procedure described in this section, you must log in to the machine as an administrator. (See "Logging In to the Machine as an Administrator.")
This mode is enabled only after you restart the machine. For instructions on restarting the machine (turning the main power switch OFF, and then ON), see "How to Turn ON the Main Power."
NOTE
You can enter up to 8 alphanumeric characters for the password.
